Rita Ora opened up about wanting to quit the music business due to the ” psychologically intense” pressure on stars to be role models.
The singer spent time in her home country of Albania working on the deeply personal follow-up to 2018’s ‘Phoenix’, and the pop star admits she has struggled with the pressure of being in the spotlight and touched on moments where she felt like quitting her career.
Rita – who recently tied the knot with filmmaker Taika Waititi – is quoted by The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column as saying she’s felt like quitting and questioned what she is doing and is it worth it. She went on to explain that as she got more famous, she understood that people look up to celebrities and they become role models.
Rita confessed sometimes you’re not ready for that because you only wanted to make music but now you are being followed by millions of people which she says is ‘really intense’ psychologically and added you have to stay true to your friends who you have known for years.
Asked what she was doing in Albania, she said: “A new album – January next year” and teased it’s going to be great. She added there will also be more music and a film and admitted her dream is to show everybody that you can do more than one thing.
