John Wick coming to an end on the big screen?

Keanu Reeves’ titular assassin has taken the world by storm with its impressive in camera action set pieces, however it looks as if the upcoming Chapter 4 will be the last we’ll see of the puppy loving assassin, for now at least.

Chad Stahelski, director of the franchise, sat down with the Hollywood Reporter where he said “In our minds, Keanu and I are done for the moment. We’re going to give John Wick a rest.”

Stahelski worked as a stuntman before transitioning to the directors chair and first worked with Keanu on The Matrix where Chad filled in as his stunt double.

The pair continued to work together on such films as 47 Ronin, Constantine, The Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions, as well as Reeves’ directorial debut, Man of Tai Chi.

John Wick may be taking a break, however the universe continues to expand with the upcoming John Wick spin off Ballerina starring Ana De Armas, as well as, the TV series The Continental, both of which has Stahelski attached as a producer.

Staheski will hand over directing duties to Len Wiseman, director of Die Hard 4.0, as he turns his attention towards the video game based movie Ghost of Tsushima.

Reeves on the other hand is gearing up to return as Constantine in a long belated sequel, helmed by the original’s director Frances Lawrence.

However the future of the film is unknown after James Gunn and Peter Safran were appointed Co-chairmen of DC.

Reeves told Collider that the: “”DC world [is] re-evaluating whether or not they want to do a Constantine with me in the movie… So fingers crossed!”

John Wick Chapter 4 releases in UK cinemas on March 23rd and already boasts positive reviews from critics.
