On September 19, 2022 world leaders and royalty gathered at Westminster Abbey in London to attend the state funeral of British monarch Queen Elizabeth II. An estimated TV audience of over four billion people tuned in to witness the service which was conducted by the Dean of Westminster, David Hoyle. Mourners began taking their seats at Westminster Abbey up to three hours before Queen Elizabeth’s funeral began.

The King’s Guards trooped through the gates of the historic building then the doors were opened shortly after 8am and guests began filing in and sitting down prior to the start time of 11am with early attendees including UK Chancellor Nadhim Zahawi.

Hundreds of thousands of mourners lined the streets of London to witness the Queen’s coffin being taken to the Abbey.

The Queen’s coffin was pulled on the State Funeral Gun Carriage by 98 Royal Navy sailors known as the Sovereign’s Guard.
