5 things you probably didn’t know about 80 For Brady movie

80 For Brady hits cinemas this week and tells the story of 4 friends, Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Rita Moreno and Sally Field, and their quest to watch Tom Brady play at the superbowl, but before you see it, here’s 5 things you probably didn’t know about the film and its stars.

1) The core four at the center of this sports comedy have a combined 5 academy awards between them, as well as 12 nominations across their collective careers.

Jane Fonda has two leading actress Oscars for 1971’s Klute and 1978’s Coming Home, whilst Sally Field also has two for 1979’s Norma Ray and 1984’s Places of the Heart and Rita Moreno has one for 1961’s West Side Story.

Lily Tomlin has never won an Oscar but was nominated for her supporting role in 1975’s Nashville.

2) 80 For Brady marks the third time Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin have worked together, having starring in the iconic 9 to 5, as well as, their Netflix series Grace and Frankie.

3) Despite being titled 80 for Brady, Sally Field is actually 76 years old. Lily Tomlin is the next youngestest at 83, then Jane Fonda at 85, making Rita Morena the oldest at 91 years of age.

4) Rita Moreno is an EGOT winner having won an Oscar for West Side Story (1962), A Grammy for Best Album for Children for The Electric Company in 1975, as well as, A Tony for her performance in The Ritz that same year and two Primetime Emmy’s for her appearances in The Muppets Show (1977) and The Rockford Files (1978)

5) Recently retired football legend, Tom Brady plays himself in the film, but this isn’t the first time he’s played himself in a film or TV show. Brady has played himself in the likes of Family Guy, The Simpsons, Living with yourself, as well as, Entourage and it’s movie continuation.

But perhaps most surprising of all is his first IMDB acting credit is as ‘Computer Geek #1’ in the Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear fronted Farrelly brothers comedy Stuck on You.

80 For Brady touches down in UK cinemas on March 24th.
